Casino Windsor will add another Hotel

Casino Windsor, which is located in Windsor, Ontario, plans to add a second hotel tower next to its casino. The cost of the expansion is estimated at $150 million. This new hotel will add to the $2 billion worth of revenue the province of Ontario receives from gambling related activities.

Chairman of the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association, Mark Boscariol, believes that government funding of this project will create over 400 jobs and give a boost to the economy. It will also keep fellow Canadians from crossing the border and gambling at Michigan casinos like the MGM Grand Detroit Casino, Greektown Casino and MotorCity Casino.

New Rules for UK casinos

The gambling commission in Great Britain has come up with new rules for online gambling websites and land based casinos. There a slew of new casinos that are popping up all over the UK. Some of the new regulations include having a place where problem gamblers can go and seek help, having dealers with legitimate licenses and checking a patron's ID when it comes to alcohol.

If the casinos do not abide by these and other rules, the UK Gambling Commission will revoke the casino's license. Online and land based gambling bring in revenues of over £50 billion in the UK.

The director who has brought us films like Terminator 2, Aliens, the Abyss, True Lies and Titanic, James Cameron. He will be in charge of developing rides that are based on his movies. If approved, the high-tech theme park will open in 2010.

Thomas Haley, an employee at Hardy's Hardware store in Connecticut, noticed something very peculiar when he saw a particular sheet of metal. He saw the image of Jesus Christ. He showed it to a few of his friends. Some of them saw the same image while others said it looked like Jim Morrison.

Pinnacle Entertainment buys Aztar Corporation

Gaming company Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. is planning to acquire Aztar Corporation's outstanding shares for $38 each in cash. The financial transaction is estimated at $1.45 billion. This is great news for both corporations because it will push them to the top of list amongst stiff competition, Harrah's Entertainment Inc. and MGM Mirage Inc.

Las Vegas based Pinnacle owns and runs casinos in Nevada, Mississippi, Louisiana, Indiana and Argentina. With this merger, Pinnacle plans to open a casino in the Bahamas next to the Four Seasons Hotel in Exuma. They will expand their resorts in Indiana and Louisiana and build new hotels for the Boomtown New Orleans casino.
