Casino de Montreal hopes to move

Operator of the Casino de Montreal, Loto-Quebec, wants to move the casino from Notre Dame Island to Pointe-Saint-Charles in order to create a bigger complex to draw in more tourists. But the Public Security of the Canadian province believes that there will be an increase in crime and fraud.

Ministers Jacques Dupuis and Monique Jérôme-Forget want to look over the final reports of the project before anything is finalized. Montreal's Chamber of Commerce is the only one backing up the lottery corporation. Loto-Quebec's general manager, Isabelle Hudon, believes the whole island of Montreal will benefit from the move.
