No more smoking in Westin Hotels and Resorts

As of the 1st of January, patrons of the Westin Hotels & Resorts in North America will no longer be allowed to smoke in the public areas or the rooms. However, they will be allowed to smoke in the casino in Las Vegas. The reason why it will not be banned in the Westin's casino on Flamingo Road is because Wimar Horizon leases the casino space and they do not have to abide by the new ban.

Operator of the Westin Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, found out that most people agree on a new non-smoking environment. When Silver City banned smoking in the past, revenues started to decline and the casino was forced to bring back smoking. Harrah's has a couple of casinos that are non-smoking. The MGM Mirage will still offer smoking and non-smoking rooms.
