$60 Million Poker Tournament

Australia's Melbourne Crown Casino is hosting a $80 million poker tournament. It is the largest prize pool the poker world has ever seen. Scheduled to appear are World Series of Poker (WSOP) champions Phil Ivey and Joe Hachem. Entry fee to this amazing event is over $13 million and is by invitation only.

The gaming manager of the Crown Casino, Richard Longhurst, hopes that the following tournament in 2007 will have a prize pool of $75 million. The only other competition that somewhat comes close to this one is World Series of Poker World Championship in Las Vegas which has a measly $10 million jackpot.
