Skokomish Tribe wants to build Casino at Nascar track
The Skokomish Tribe hopes to build a casino near or even on Kitsap County's Nascar track in Washington. Daytona-based International Speedway Corp.(ISC), owner of the Nascar raceway, is in total agreement with the Indian Tribe. As long as Congress and the people of Kitsap County have no problem with it, neither does the ISC.
The reason why Washington might deny the proposal is because the location is not on an Indian reservation area. Chairwoman of the Kitsap County Commission, Chris Endresen, also believes that the casino will not be approved due to the fact gambling is only permitted on reservation sites. The Skokomish Tribe does have a casino in Shelton. The Lucky Dog Casino is on their reservation site and the tribe hopes to add some new slot machines.
