Gambling more addictive than alcohol?
According to a couple of new recent studies in Canada, gamblers tend to have more intense cravings for gambling than alcoholics have for alcohol. The difference between compulsive gamblers and alcoholics is that gamblers play because it makes them feel euphoric, as opposed to alcoholics who drink to escape bad feelings. The research also found that gamblers tend to be more impulsive than alcoholics.
And who is largely to blame for all this? In Canada, the government is. All casinos in the country are owned and run by the government. The government needs to take a good hard look in order to see what these money making casinos are doing to the population.
